Star Point HOA HubThornton, Colorado

Community forum

The resident forum lives on Discourse.

The hub points residents to a hosted Discourse forum with categories, moderation, trust levels, sign-up, and resident verification. Posting and accounts stay in Discourse.

Domain-ready

Configure NEXT_PUBLIC_FORUM_URL when the Discourse instance is live, for example forum.starpointhomeowners.com.

Join

Resident discussion belongs in the forum, not in this codebase.

Discourse handles accounts, moderation, flags, categories, notifications, and trust levels. This page explains the purpose and sends residents there.

Verification

How residents should join

Verification deters outsiders, but it is not legal proof of ownership. Keep the process practical and privacy-aware.

Use invite-only sign-up or an offline shared invite link/access code.

Enable must_approve_users so a moderator approves each new account.

Optionally require a minimum trust level before posting broadly.

Pin the guidelines and keep flagging plus email notifications enabled.

Guidelines

Keep the discussion factual and neighbor-safe.

These should be pinned in Discourse as the Guidelines/FAQ topic.

Use topic titles that name the issue, document, meeting, or cost driver.

Mark claims as source-backed, resident observation, question, or opinion.

Do not post private addresses, personal disputes, or unverified accusations.

Keep criticism focused on documented conditions, decisions, process, and organizational performance.
